Dispatcher Job Responsibilities:
schedule and notify field technicians about next day's service orders
route trouble tickets to the proper technician
call customers to arrange for technician access
interact with other departments to verify information on customer work orders
clerical tasks such as typing, filing, ordering supplies, time reporting
maintain personnel files
collect and analyze employee force levels as they related to work volume
assess present and planned levels to provide recommendations to resolve force and load imbalances in order to meet customer demand
work with internal databases to estimate how long a job should take to complete

Dispatcher Description:
You'll work in an office setting talking with customers to schedule service calls. You'll also be responsible for scheduling those service calls with technicians. In a dispatcher job, you've got to have a love of details and like putting the pieces of a puzzle together. You’ll need to be a good planner and able to see things strategically. It’s up to Dispatchers to get the right technicians to customers on time and with the proper equipment. You will work with internal databases to estimate how long a job should take to complete, then assign the work to available technicians. Dispatcher jobs are great for someone just starting out in telecom and can lead to increasing levels of responsibility and expertise.
