Frame Attendant

Frame Attendant Job Responsibilities:
initiate and perform cable cuts
work with computer databases
install, maintain and test service circuits
routinely inspect all parts of the frame
place, remove and rearrange cross-connections on distributing frames
prepare records and reports
place and remove test leads
identify cable pairs
perform continuity and conformance testing
Skills Required:
problem solving
trouble shooting
work with hand-tools
basic telephony and electricity
strong communication
basic computer and networking
use hand-tools
Special Requirements:
must be able to stand for long periods of time
must be able to lift or move up to 100 pounds
you'll need to be able to distinguish colors
drivers license
must be able to work nights and weekends
working with your hands
understanding how technology works
not working in a typical 'office' setting

Training & Education:
High School Diploma (or equivalent)
Prefer Associates degree in electronics or telecom. You'll need to pass pre-employment tests but once you do, you'll receive classroom and on-the-job training.
Pay Range:
22,360 - 55,016

Frame Attendant Description:
Work inside a central office to connect, disconnect, remove, rearrange and maintain wires on distributing frames. You will replace faulty mux/dac cards. You may do some fiber work, like replacing fiber cords or troubleshooting to make sure they are properly connected. You'll also test and check equipment. Maintain daily work logs and file service orders. You will work with computer databases and process trouble reports if the need arises.
