Inventory Specialist Job Responsibilities:
build equipment lists into TIRKS
cross-check equipment lists developed by engineering
update equipment inventory records in company databases
maintain accurate databases and inventory levels
read detailed engineering plans, schematics, circuit drawings, etc.
more advanced Inventory Specialists may assist with training
Skills Required:
strong computer and database skills
read schematics and design drawings
strong communication skills
Special Requirements:
you may be asked ot work nights and weekends
you need to be able to sit for long periods of time
you'll need to be good at managing your time
working with detailed information
problem solving & puzzles
working in a traditional office setting

Inventory Specialist Description:
You'll work in an office setting and be responsible for interpreting customer records on installations or upgrades to make sure that databases are accurate and complete. You'll work with detailed information in equipment schematics, circuit drawings, engineering specifications, central office drawings and outside plant maps to match the equipment and materials on hand to the needs of the installation. You'll also build cable and tie pair information into databases. You'll assist engineers by resolving problems with documents or databases. And when field changes, job revisions, reschedules or technology changes arise, you'll be the one to update inventory levels in company databases. Prior work experience isn't required but it will help.
