Sales & Service Representative – Residential Job Responsibilities:
enter information into a computer as they are speaking to customers
use multi-line phone systems
make arrangements for the installation, removal or change of services and/or products
work simultaneously with multiple computer applications and databases
quote and compute rates for new services accurately
summarize the contact and explain what will happen next
ensure that the customer understands the resolution
interact with other functional groups to ensure customer satisfaction
meet established productivity goals: sales, call handling time, records accuracy
obtain, establish and access customer credit information
collect past due payments
Skills Required:
strong communication skills
basic computer and keyboarding
ability to type at least 40 words per minute
consultative selling

When customers have questions, you're the one they turn to. Work in a fast-paced call center to answer and resolve incoming non-technical residential customer inquiries. The types of issues you will help resolve could concern account balance information, services, products, billing, equipment, etc. You'll need to be a good listener and ask questions to uncover solutions and the potential need for additional customer requirements. Some companies ask that you take on a sales role and when it's appropriate, make recommendations for additional products or services. Other employers separate sales & service. In addition, when customer issues are beyond your expertise, you'll refer them to other departments for technical assistance.
